Chemical distributor Unipex Group Inc. announced July 29 that it had purchased Ferguson Chemical Innovation, a Brampton, Ontario-based supplier of chemicals including pigments, colorants, additives, resins and process oils used in the plastics industry.
Paris-based Unipex made the acquisition through its Quebec City-based Unipex Solutions Canada Inc. unit. Terms were not disclosed.
Patrice Barthelmes, president and CEO of Unipex Group, said the deal is essential to his firm’s growth plans for its industrial business, and that it will expand Unipex’s footprint in North America.
Unipex supplies the cosmetics, pharmaceutical, nutrition and industrial sectors. In addition to plastics, Ferguson also supplies the graphic arts, coatings, rubber and adhesives sectors. | |
